Honey stewed apples and pears with vanilla and cinnamon

1 cup diced apples  1 cup diced pears  1 tbsp honey 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp vanilla essence 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 cup water

COOKING APPLES Granny Smith, Jonagold, Braeburn, or Honeycrisp

COOKING PEARS Beurre Bosc  or Anjou pears

Stew the apples and pears in water, lemon juice, honey, vanilla, and cinnamon for 20 minutes on the stove until fork tender.
